World Refugee Commemoration Day 20 June 2016 in Johannesburg (SA) with the presence of different institutions amongst others the presence of his Excellency Malusi Gigaba, Minister of Home Affairs Department of the Republic of South Africa and officials, the Regional Representative of the United Nation High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Coordinating Body of Refugees and Migrant Communities (CBRMC) representatives; with a huge presence of refugees and migrant communities.

 

 The Coordinating Body of Refugees and Migrant Communities (CBRMC) World Refugee Commemoration Day 20 June 2016 memorandum outlining refugees’ difficulties in accessing their basic rights, amongst other their right to access refugee IDs and Travel Documents in the Republic of South Africa ; which message was highly praised by the audience.

Activities Overview

• Offering paralegal consultations to refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants and refer cases to appropriate and relevant service providers.

  • • Conducting Awareness campaigns on migrants' children' rights to education which include placement into public schools as well as recommendation letters for school fees exemption for those most deserving (the neediest among the needy). Read more
